... happen to go to Chaunni with Anupam today. Poor guy, broke the joint of his left hand (he is lefty) and could not recover yet after a month of Physio. Pitied a bit at his situation, thinking how helpless he is without his working hand supporting him. Mere thought of being in his place brought Goose-bumps all over my body, and compelled to ask myself - How fortunate we are not to face such disabilities, considering the fact that more than 10% of the World Population are among them?
This morning in office someone asked me - why are you so happy? Well, this is not the first time I was shooted with this. Most of the time I tell them that I am always happy and seldom I just smile at them. Today I asked myself, why am I happy? Do I really have any reason to be happy? then thought -
This morning in office someone asked me - why are you so happy? Well, this is not the first time I was shooted with this. Most of the time I tell them that I am always happy and seldom I just smile at them. Today I asked myself, why am I happy? Do I really have any reason to be happy? then thought -
Do we really need so called "REASON" to be happy?
I woke up this morning in single piece with all my limbs and peripherals well attached and functioning, is not that good enough reason to be happy? I could see and talk to my beloved ones today, is not that good enough reason to be happy? I took off from home and reached office safe and sound, is not that good enough reason to be happy? Looking down on those who have suffered all their life either being disabled since birth or after, or those who wakes up to find themselve unable to do even a basic daily activities, or those who have no one to look upon as beloved, should not we be atleast spreading few glimpses of smile as a virtue of gratitude that you did not have to go through these miseries.
It is true that I like smiling and it makes me happy to see others smiling as well. Life has been defined as a Struggle - a never ending struggle to be precise, then why do feel sad just to face one. Depressed you are more complex you become. If taking deep breadth and loosing some heat makes you feel better then why not do so? We easily welcome sadness in our life but hesitate to embrace happiness coming our way.
A "smile" in your face cost no money, a "hi" from your lips cost no juice, a "friendly pat" on someones shoulder cost no strength. If so, why are we so stingy to do which cost nothing, rather would gain happiness for yourself and for others in return. Being happy, amplifying and broadcasting is so effortlessly simple yet we are either unaware or not in practice to imply. So friends, why not begin your day with smile? why not spread the happiness implicitly adhere to you? why not apply "Jadu ki Jhapki" (Munna bhai kinda) to the needed?
